To operate the app: show nearby docks, let you host/join events, chat, receive notifications, keep the service safe, and fix bugs. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
We use trusted providers that process data on our behalf, under contract, only to run the app: Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Mapbox (maps & place search), OpenStreetMap / Nominatim (turning map coordinates into an address when you place a dock — your coordinates are sent to this service), Agora (voice/video calls), Google / Firebase (push notifications, crash reporting, sign-in, and analytics about how the app is used), Cloudflare (automated image safety scanning), Resend (sending your sign-in verification codes by email), Jamendo (streaming the music you add to a story), Giphy (GIF search in chat), and hCaptcha (the bot check on sign-in, sign-up and password reset — it receives your IP address and device signals in order to tell a person from an automated script). All transmission is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
Precise location is used to show nearby docks and your position on the live map. You can reduce accuracy ("Nearby Only"), limit when it's shared ("Joining Only"), or hide yourself entirely ("Go Invisible") in Settings, and you can revoke the OS location permission at any time.
You can block and report users and content. Uploaded images are scanned automatically for unsafe content. We may remove content or restrict/ban accounts that violate our Terms.
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time in the app: Profile → Settings & Privacy → Danger Zone → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, docks, messages, and uploaded media. If you can't access the app, email dockmeet.team@gmail.com to request deletion.
Data is encrypted in transit; access is restricted by per-user database security rules; sessions are stored in the device's secure keystore. Sign-in, sign-up and password reset are protected by an automated bot check. Every sign-in also requires a second factor — a six-digit code emailed to you — and you can end every session on every device from Settings → Privacy → Sign out everywhere. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
DockMeet is an adults-only service and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we remove the account and its data.
You may access, correct, or delete your information from within the app, or by contacting us. Depending on your region you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
